I remember being 12 years old and seeing Paramore live for the first time, and thinking to myself “damn, so this is an option?”. 

It was a natural progression from that point onwards. I got my first ukulele for the following Christmas, which upgraded to a guitar the next year after a family friend wanted to encourage this new hobby. I would spend hours sitting on Ultimate Guitar trying to learn those songs I heard live that first night, before realising I maybe wasn’t that type of vocalist and deciding it might be best to find something else. Something more personal. Something mine. 

Writing is something that comes naturally to me, I have a lot on my mind and I constantly need to dump it somewhere, so putting it to clumsy fingerpicking made sense back then. Not much has changed apart from the fingerpicking, I use a plectrum now too.

My town is such a creative hub so I’ve never been short of opportunities to push myself. I‘ve met so many incredible people through this journey who have helped shape me into the musician I am today, especially since joining ACM back in 2023. Being surrounded by so many passionate individuals really ignited my own further, I’m truly grateful.

I don’t know where I’m going right now but I know I like this path. I don’t look behind me anymore.
